There would most certainly be bruises on his ankles the next day. Castiel has no intention of making this easy on himself. He's not into extreme pain play, the flogging intended to lift his body into that floating subspace, not make him bleed and scream in agony. And that's never something he'd have Sam do to him anyway. Torture is something quite different from what they do, after all. That won't deter him from turning those bonds against himself today.

The muscles between his shoulders are rock hard as Sam finishes tying him up. During usual scenes, this would all happen with a bigger sense of sensuality, but tonight isn't about pleasure for either of them.
