Samandriel would never be the stereotypical Alpha and Sam thinks that's a good thing, too. There need to be more Alphas like Samadriel, who look forward to a loving mating match. Which meant that, yes, he was definitely out of the running here.

Not that Sam's in the running, himself, but he's doing his best to keep things better for Castiel, at least.
