For a while, Castiel is silent. It's difficult to read what's going on in his face.
He's been lied to, and he's not sure how to handle the knowledge that all he felt and experienced in the last four years was based on that. Zachariah made it so believable. Even encouraged Castel to write, though he always warned him that the letters might not be received well.
He spent 4 years missing Gabriel and ultimately being angry and disappointed with him.
He doesn't know what to say. But there's one thing Gabriel probably should know.
"He was going to let Crowley into my bed anyway. The courtship was designed for someone of Zachariah's choosing to breed me." He swallows. "You left for nothing."
