Balthazar likes Sam's humor at least, and laughs at the jibe. "No, I must insist on the longer option for you, I'm afraid. Seniority gives me that right." He likes what he hears about Sam's choices, though. Looks like this one isn't just after a pretty face to keep around. Balthazar is rather proud of himself that while the pretty face caught his attention, it's definitely not the main reason why he kept Castiel around so long. But he's getting ahead of himself - that's not something Sam needs to know.
