The furs look incredibly inviting, though Sam pauses a moment at the offer of more hospitality. Still, he can't entirely say no because he hasn't been able to hunt for himself for a few days. It's not impossible this high in the mountains, but it's more difficult and if he can spare his travel rations for another day, it certainly wouldn't hurt.

"All right," he says after that few seconds of thought. "I don't suppose you have any dry wood here?" Sure, it's a dragon cave and the dragon could probably just start whatever fire it wants. But humans tend to feel better with their own fires.

Also, the cave was going to be a bit dark otherwise.
