It's been a long, tiring series of hunts without much in the way of chances to rest. Every time Sam and Dean thought about turning around to head back for the bunker, something else came up that needed their immediate attention.

It wouldn't be as much of a problem if they hadn't left their mates behind in order to do these hunts. Somebody had needed to stay in the bunker to do the research and both angels were good at it. Sam isn't entirely certain that Gabriel doesn't use a bit of Grace to get what they need, anyway, but he's not about to call his mate out on it. Not when it means that the hunt goes off without any major injuries.

Still, it's been more than a month of crisscrossing the US without coming anywhere close to Lebanon and Sam's feeling the fact that he hasn't seen his mate in too long. When the Impala finally pulls into the Men of Letter's garage, he and Dean are both out like a shot, only taking a few moments to grab their bags before heading into the bunker proper.

Everything else can be dealt with later. Right now, both brothers are scenting out their mates, turning opposite directions to find them.

It might seem strange to some that, while they lived together, Sam and Dean needed time to hunt together, too. But they didn't live in each other's pockets nearly as much these days and while it was nice, it still took some getting used to. If nothing else, not waking up in the night with Dean breathing on the other side of the room was still odd sometimes.

It did help that Gabriel had been playing human long enough that he still breathed, even when he was resting.

Sam hums as well, moving his hand to take hold of Gabriel's wrist, rubbing his thumb along the pulse point. "I think, once the knot goes down, I'll get out the cuffs. Since you said you wanted to be tied down."

There were actually two pairs of cuffs in the Bunker, specially created so that, while they were on and the right word had been said, an angel that wore them would be practically human. Dean and Castiel, of course, had the other pair. Sam...just tried not to think about whether or not they used them.

Gabriel had been at this long enough that it was easier to make sure his vessel's regular vitals kept moving. Heartbeat, pulse, all the usual things that made his far more mortal mate comfortable. He laughs softly, wriggling back against his knot again.

The cuffs had been Sam's idea and the angels had been happy to oblige their mates, crafting them with special runes that were tuned to their specific wavelengths. One snap of the cuffs and they were locked down to an almost human form, vulnerable and confined into their vessels.

.. and maybe the first time Gabriel had given Sam the cuffs they'd broken the bed. But it had been worth it. "Mmh. Now that sounds like a good idea. We've got lost time to make up for, Winchester."

Breaking the bed isn't much of a worry when taking the cuffs off will get the bed fixed again. So Sam smiles, nuzzling the back of Gabriel's neck again as his hand tightens around Gabriel's wrist. "We really do. And I plan to knot you often you'll be sore in the morning."

Which would go away with time or when Sam took the cuffs off. "Though I think I may eat you out, first, when I tie you down. It's been entirely too long since I've made you beg for my knot."

The promise in his voice makes Gabriel shiver with want because there was nothing better than when Sam got possessive and took him to bed until they were both sore and exhausted in all the best possible ways. "I plan to hold you to both of those," he laughs softly. "And 'm gonna ride you until we drive the headboard right into the wall."

"Easy to hold me to what I already plan on doing," Sam replied with a soft laugh, stroking his hand over Gabriel's chest and down over his stomach. "And the cuffs are staying on while you ride me, you know." Because they didn't actually need to put the headboard through the wall.

"The whole weekend?" Amusement colors his voice as he snuggles back against Sam with a pleased sigh. "Now that sounds like the best welcome home imaginable. A weekend with you, entertaining cuffs and no clothes for as long as possible."

"I don't know about the whole weekend," Sam allows, smiling at the snuggle and sigh. "I mean, it's going to depend a lot on how much you want to go out to the kitchen to get food." Sam, at least, was going to have to eat. And Gabriel enjoyed food enough that he often joined Sam in eating, even if he usually had something very different to Sam.

Gabriel takes Sam's hand, raising it to his lips. "Okay, so you've got a point. Where else am I going to get a grilled peanut butter bacon and marshmallow sandwich? The kitchen." Because sometimes there was just no substitute for making it yourself and the more Gabriel explored in the kitchen, the more he realized that he liked it.

Gabriel probably doesn't even NEED archangel powers to know the way that Sam's nose wrinkles up at the mention of that particular combination. "I'd ask if you were pregnant, but I think I'll worry about that when the combination isn't something that you eat all the time."

Still, he curls his fingers against Gabriel's cheek, brushing fingertips lightly against his skin.

Gabriel snorts out a laugh, tilting into the touch with a rumble. "I think we'll have time to worry about that down the line." He's capable enough of monitoring his vessel's functions to make certain there were no accidental pregnancies whether he was in heat or not. A child wasn't out of the question, but any child would also be Nephilim.

"I'm a creative eater and you love it."

"Love it may be overstating slightly." Sam snorts, pressing his lips to the back of Gabriel's head. "I mean, useful sometimes when I suck you off, admittedly."

He does know that they don't really have to worry about an unplanned pregnancy. And while he'd like to have a child with Gabriel, there's still a lot to think about.

Gabriel laughs, "Sam Winchester. Always finding the bright side of things, even his mate's odd eating habits."

"You should sleep," he murmurs, reaching back to stroke through his hair. "We've got time and if I know you two, you've been on the road since stupid o'clock just to get home."

Sam makes a sound of agreement, face still pressed against the back of Gabriel's head. "Neither of us wanted to be away from you guys any longer." Even if they could travel to Sam and Dean, the angels tended not to. "Sleep better when you're with me, anyway."
